About Stir
Stir is a dating app for single parents, owned by Match Group, the company behind Tinder, Match, Hinge and OkCupid. Match announced it on 21 March 2022, timed to National Single Parent Day, with releases on the iOS App Store and Google Play.
Match Group said single parents are often underserved by mainstream dating apps and that Stir aims to offer them community and connection. Dinh Thi Bui, Match Group's Vice President of New Verticals, said in the launch announcement: "Having kids shouldn't be a dealbreaker when dating." Its main feature, Stir Time, lets members share the general times they are free, such as morning, afternoon or night, so they can match with people whose schedules are similar. TechCrunch reported that onboarding asks about relationship goals and personality, similar to Hinge, and that profiles are photo-centric.
TechCrunch reported at launch that Stir was developed within the Match brand with its own dedicated team. In 2026 DII has described Stir as part of Match Group's New and Emerging Initiatives and as an events and community brand for single parents.
