Corrections Policy
Dating Industry Insights corrects material errors quickly, openly, and on the original article. This page explains how we handle corrections and how to request one.
What Counts as a Correction
A correction is issued when we publish something that is factually wrong. That includes incorrect names or titles, misstated figures, incorrect dates, misattributed quotes, mischaracterised events, and any factual claim that cannot be supported by the underlying source. Typos and clarifications that do not change the substance of a story are updated silently.
How Corrections Appear
- The article body is edited to reflect the correct information.
- A dated correction note is added at the foot of the article describing what was wrong and what has been changed.
- If the correction changes the headline or the top of the article materially, the correction is also referenced in the opening paragraph.
- The URL of the article does not change. Original publication date is preserved. The article's modified date is updated.
Withdrawals
On the rare occasion an article is withdrawn in full, the URL returns a 410 response and a short public note explaining why it was withdrawn. We do not delete articles quietly.
How to Request a Correction
Email [email protected] with the URL of the article, the specific claim you believe is incorrect, and a link or document supporting the correct information. We aim to respond within two working days.
Right of Reply
Companies and individuals named critically in DII coverage are offered comment before publication. Where a substantive response arrives after publication, we add it to the article and note the update.
Escalation
If a correction request is declined and you believe we have got it wrong, contact the editor by replying to the same thread. The editor's decision is final.
