- Hello Group will release unaudited Q3 2026 results before US markets open on Monday, 7 December, with a call at 6:00 a.m. US Eastern Time.
- Q3 guidance is net revenues of RMB2.4B to RMB2.5B, down 9.4% to 5.7% year on year.
- Q2 overseas net revenues rose 52.0% to RMB672.7M while mainland China revenues fell to RMB1,813.3M.
- Match Group has already reported Q3, on 2 November.
Hello Group (MOMO), owner of Momo and Tantan, said on 5 November that it will publish unaudited results for the quarter ended 30 September before US markets open on Monday, 7 December. The announcement contains no figures. The yardstick is the guidance the company gave in September.
That guidance was total net revenues of RMB2.4 billion to RMB2.5 billion, down 9.4% to 5.7% year on year, which the company called preliminary and subject to change. Q2 revenue fell 5.1% to RMB2,486.0 million, so even the top of the Q3 range implies a steeper decline.
The DII Take
The date is housekeeping. The substance is whether overseas growth can keep pace with a shrinking home market. Hello Group's Q2 mix was already shifting, and the Q3 print will show whether that shift is a strategy or a cushion.
What the Q3 print has to show
In Q2, the company said, overseas net revenues rose 52.0% to RMB672.7 million (US$99.1 million). Mainland China revenues fell from RMB2,177.9 million to RMB1,813.3 million. Hello Group credited the overseas growth to new audio and video products in MENA and to dating brands outside MENA. It blamed the domestic decline mainly on outside pressures that shifted the focus of some broadcasters and agencies on Momo, together with weak consumer sentiment.
Paying users diverged. Momo reached 3.9 million, against 3.5 million a year earlier. Tantan fell to 0.5 million from 0.7 million. On the Q2 call, CFO Peng Hui (Cassie) said the Q3 guidance implies a high-teens decline in domestic revenue, widening from Q2's 17%. Investing.com's transcript also reports overseas at 27% of revenue, up from 17%, and says management lowered its full-year outlook. The company's own release does not say that.
Overseas net revenues rose 52.0% to RMB672.7 million (US$99.1 million).
What to watch on 7 December
The call starts at 6:00 a.m. Eastern (7:00 p.m. in Beijing and Hong Kong). Participants must pre-register. A replay runs through 14 December.
The benchmark is Match Group (MTCH), which reported Q2 revenue of $853 million against $864 million, down 1%, with Hinge up 22%. Its Q3 update, covered here, showed Tinder daily active users back to growth in September. Hello Group's Inner Circle stake is a further test of whether it can build outside Asia.
- Hello Group's guidance of RMB2.4B to RMB2.5B means revenue falls even at the top of the range, so the overseas contribution is the number to watch on 7 December.
- Tantan's paying users fell to 0.5 million in Q2 from 0.7 million a year earlier, while Momo's rose to 3.9 million from 3.5 million.
- Investors comparing Hello Group with Match Group will have both companies' Q3 figures in hand once Hello Group reports.
