About HYROX
HYROX is a standardised fitness racing series. A race combines eight 1 km runs, each followed by one of eight functional workout stations, and the format is the same at every location so athletes can compare results worldwide. It was founded in Hamburg in 2017 by Christian Toetzke, an event organiser, and Moritz Fürste, an Olympic field hockey champion. The first event took place in Hamburg in April 2018. Infront Sports & Media first invested in HYROX in December 2019 and became majority owner in October 2022. In September 2026, Infront announced the sale of its majority stake to a consortium led by the private equity firm L Catterton. The founders are part of the consortium and the investment firm WndrCo also took part. Financial terms were not disclosed, though Bloomberg reported a valuation of about €600 million. For the 2025/26 season, HYROX reported more than 100 events and over 1.4 million participants.
