That timeline poses a structural challenge for platform moderation.     Platform verification isn't keeping pace with generative AI

Barclays has a commercial interest in amplifying fraud fears—it sells fraud prevention services—but the Gen Z migration to in-person dating is either happening or it isn't. Match, Bumble, and every platform operator should be publishing their own user trust data immediately. If they don't, assume the Barclays numbers are directionally correct and the industry's youngest cohort is already gone.
