About Rivet

Rivet is a dating app built on what it calls Social Matching. Instead of swiping alone, users join as Daters or Matchers. Matchers, who can be other users, invited friends or so-called Elite Matchers, recommend pairs they think would work, and Daters see introductions backed by those recommendations before deciding whether to connect. Non-daters can join only as matchers in what the company describes as a give-to-get model.

Rivet was founded in 2025 by Taru Kapoor, a former Tinder and Match Group executive who left in 2023. Inc42 also names Rajat Sahni, formerly CEO of CarDekho's used-car business, as a co-founder; other coverage names Kapoor alone. The company launched in Charlotte earlier in 2026 and announced a nationwide US launch on 24 September 2026. Inc42 reports an office in Delhi NCR, with engineering and machine learning teams largely based in India.

In September 2026 Rivet announced $10.5 million in seed funding from Peak XV Partners, Shine Capital and Blume Ventures. Former Tinder and OkCupid chief executive Elie Seidman is an early investor and has advised Kapoor. The company says the money will go towards product development, distribution and scaling across the US. Its website is rivetdating.com.
