In January 2021 security researchers and news outlets reported that a hacking group called ShinyHunters had posted a file of about 1.2 GB containing data on roughly 2.28 million MeetMindful members on a public forum. The reported data included names, email addresses, city, state and ZIP details, IP addresses, and Facebook user IDs and authentication tokens. Security Affairs also reported dates of birth, dating preferences and bcrypt-hashed passwords. Private messages were reported not to be included. UpGuard reported that MeetMindful said payment information and messages were not exposed, while Security Affairs said at the time that the company had not confirmed the breach.
