Biography
Julie Griggs co-founded Fourplay Social with Danielle Dietzek. The app lets single people team up with a friend and match with another pair for a double date. It launched in New York City in 2020 and added Boston in 2023, with plans for Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles. In August 2024 the founders declined to share active user figures, saying more than 50,000 singles were on pre-launch waiting lists in markets where it had not yet opened. Griggs trained as a physician assistant before building the business. In September 2025 the company rebranded as PlotTwist, citing user feedback, while keeping its double-date mechanics; it was then available on iOS in selected US markets including New York and Boston.
